4. Reduce acreage of noxious weed infestations in Pueblo County by <br />30% by the yeaz 2010. <br />SECTION XI -INTEGRATED PE5T MAI~IAGEMENT PROVISIONS <br />A. This sectian on "pest management" is developed pursuant to the authority granted the <br />Boazd of County Commissioners under C.R.S. 35-5-101, 35-7-101, 35-40-202, 35- <br />40-203, 35-7-111, and 35-7-201. The goal of this segment is to assist county <br />residents to manage and control the impacts of pests and predatory animals, which <br />may impact the health and safety of plants, animals, and humans is Pueblo County. <br />B. Effective date of the "pest management"section will adhere to those conditions set <br />forth in Section I -General Provisions. <br />PEST DEFINITIONS - - ~• ~ ,._.. .:•: <br />(1) "County pest inspector" means any "qualified" employees of a Boazd of County <br />Coaunissionets employed under C.R.S. 35-4-101 "Colorado Pest Control Act". <br />(2) "Insect pests" means any of the small invertebrate animals in the phylum arthropoda <br />that are injurious to plants and animals. <br />(3) "Pests"means insect pests and animal pests, except rodents, jackrabbits and <br />predatory animals and includes plant diseases. <br />(4) "Plant diseases" means the pathological condition in plants caused by fungi, bacteria, <br />virus, nematodes, mycoplasinas, or pazasitic seed plants. <br />(5) "County weed and pest coordinator' means that individual assigned by the Board of <br />County Commissioners to manage and implement the County Integrated Weed and <br />Pest Management Plan. <br />(6) ``Predator" means an animal, bird, or insect that preys on and either damages or kills <br />livestock, wildlife, or domestic animals either as a source of food or as a behavioral <br />habit. <br />SECTION XII -PEST PLAN OB.TECTIVES <br />A. Compliance with all Colorado Statutes pertaining to pest, predator, and nuisance <br />animal management. <br />B. Provide maximum fle,~cibility to landowners or occupants in the control of pests; <br />predators, and nuisance animals on their property. . <br />C. Provide a framework upon which a cooperative program of integrated pest, predator, <br />and nuisance animal management can be established through education and technical <br />assistance. ~ - <br />D.
