2. Document reported infestations to assure proper identification and
to categorize the infestations by type, size, density, land use, and
ownership.
3. Continue weed mapping efforts providing greater detail as to
acreage and density of infestation.
4. Designate a central repository to maintain records of infestations
and management plans and serve as a coordinating agency for plan
implementation.
5. Coordinate weed management plans to control weed infestations
involving multiple property owners to ensure consistency and follow-up.
6. Pursue cooperative weed management agreements with other
owners of public lands «ithin Pueblo County, i.e.,,,Colorado Department
of Transportation, Forest Service, State Board of Land Commissioners,
Bureau of Reclamation. Colorado Division of Pazks and Outdoor
Recreation, City of Pueblo,. Pueblo Conservancy District.
7. Provide technical assistance to landowners and occupants in the
development of effective weed management programs where necessary.
8. _ Monitor new developments. in weed management techniques and
update Plan .information at least every three years to reflect new
technology.
9. Develop educational programs and displays which can be utilized
at meetings by entities such as the: CSU Cooperative Extension, Farm
Bureau, Cattleman's Association, Farmer's Union, and Soil Conservation
Districts.
10. Develop educational brochures which can be distributed to
interested parties and to the media groups particularly focusing upon rural
and agricultural interest groups.
LONG-TERM GOALS (5-10 YEARS)
1. Develop a system to evaluate the effectiveness of weed
management pro~ams upon both private and public lands.
2. Continue and update weed mapping.
3. Evaluate and refine the County's weed manaeement program for
County-owned lands.
