request the landowner to remedy the weed problem within a specified time <br />period. If the area is already under a management plan, the landowner may <br />forward a copy of an integrated weed management plan already in place within <br />seven days or enter into development of an integrated weed management plan <br />with the assistance of Colorado State University Cooperative Extension. The <br />landowner will then submit the plan to the Coordinator for review and approval. <br />Reports will not be accepted from anonymous parties. <br />INTEGRATED WEED MANAGEMENT PLANS <br />Any citizen, resident, or other responsible entity who has an approved <br />integrated weed management plan in place can be exempted from complaints by <br />the Weed & Pest Coordinator, so long as the species complained of is included in <br />the integrated plan. <br />WEED MANAGEMENT EDUCATION <br />Pueblo County via the Pueblo County office of Colorado State University <br />Cooperative Extension will offer information, education, and technical assistance <br />to those involved is weed complaints, the general public, and other interested <br />parties. These services aze available by appointment or via regulazly scheduled <br />public seminars. <br />LANDOWNER RESPONSIBILITY <br />It is the 7esponsibility of landowners and tenants in Pueblo County to <br />manage noxious weeds so that they do not iutgact the public health, safety, and <br />welfaze or impact the private properties of others. <br />LANDOWNER WEED TREATMENT <br />Landowners failing to respond to the Weed & Pest Coordinators within <br />seven days will be required to treat the reported infestation within 14 days after <br />the notification deadline. At the end often days the Weed & Pest Coordinator (or <br />appointees) will verify treatment of the weeds. <br />COUNTY WEED TREATMENT <br />If a landowner refuses to comply with weed management requests, Pueblo <br />County officials will designate appointees to enter that private site and manage <br />said infestation in an effective and integrated manner pursuant to Colorado <br />Statute 35-5.5-109. Costs for such treatment will be billed to the landowner. If <br />the bill is not paid, said costs will be attached to the site's property tax assessment <br />by the County Treasurer. <br />SHORT-TERM GOALS (1-5 YEARS) <br />1.
