One such <br />publication, CSU Cooperative Extension, Service In Action No. 3,106, Weed <br />Management for Sma11 Rural Acreaee Owners is attached as Exhibit 1. <br />SECTION X. <br />PLAN IMPLEMENTATION <br />Sections 35-5.5-109 and 110, C.RS., of the Colorado Noxious Weed Act <br />set forth specific procedures by which the owner and/or occupant of public or <br />private land upon which a weed infestation. has been identified is to be notified, <br />including the_ content _ofgthe-,notice.,and, the time frame within which the <br />landowners or occupant must re§pond., " A. copy of the Colorado Noxious Weed <br />Act is attached as Exhibit 2. The Pueblo County Integrated Weed and Pest Plan <br />is intended to be used as .a tool to infornt"the citizens of Pueblo County of the <br />potential destruction to our Iaad that can be caused by weed infestation and to <br />provide a foundation upon which to build a weed management program. As a <br />"foundation" the Plan has established baseline information which, needs to be <br />expanded and refined, Following,is a listing of both. short and long range goal <br />.. <br />statements which will continue the development of a weed management program. <br />The Pueblo County Noxious Weed and Pest Plan will require that all <br />reported weed infestations be addressed under an integrated weed management <br />plan pursuant to Ordinance #99-XXX. The enforcement of this requirement will <br />provide every avenue for citizens Io address" weed control through education, <br />collaboration and integration of controls prior to implementing regulatory weed <br />management by Pueblo County or their"appointees. <br />PLAN INTENT <br />It is the intent of this plan to allow land managers every opportunity and <br />resource to alleviate weed infestation problems without government intervention <br />while still protecting the body.of the citizenry from the impacts of noxious weed <br />infestations. <br />NOXIOUS WEED REPORTING <br />Any citizen, resident, or other responsible entity can report noxious weed <br />infestations to the office of the County Weed & Pest Coordinator. Upon receiving <br />a report of infestation, the Coordinator or his representative will verify that such <br />an outbreak exists. The Coordinator will then contact the landowner or tenant by <br />Certified Mail. This postal communication will identify the problem area and <br />t~ <br />
