•
Three CMLRD surface water stations (NPDES Point Discharge 001, 002, and
003) will be monitored. Samples will be collected monthly. Monthly samples
will be analyzed for:
pH Settleable solids
Flow Oil and grease when visible sheen is observed.
On a quarterly basis (January, April, July, and October), when discharge
occurs, surface water will be analyzed for:
pH
Iron
Manganese
Specific Conductivity
Oil and grease
Flow
Total dissolved solids
Sulfate
Total suspended solids
Settleable solids
During the period beginning immediately and lasting through March 31, 1991,
n
U
Sun Coal Company is authorized, by an approved NPDES permit, to discharge from
outfall serial number 001, 002, and 003 overflows from existing sedimentation
ponds (Map 21).
Spring and Seep Survey
Sun Coal Company will conduct a spring and seep survey in the following
manner:
1. Conduct the survey on the backfilled area twice a year (June and late
August).
2. If springs are noted on the backfilled area, the springs will be
located on a base map and reported to the CMLRD in the annual moni-
toring report.
3. If the spring flow is greater than three gallons per minute, the flow
will be quantified and a sample will be obtained and analyzed for pH
and conductivity. If samples are obtained, Sun Coal Company will sub-
mit the results to CMLRD within 30 days after the results have been
received.
4. If spring flow is not greater than three gallons per minute, spring and
seep survey results will be reported in the annual monitoring report.
•
- 377 -
(Rev. 5/86)
