<br />Three CDMG surface water monitoring stations will be monitored (NPDES discharge <br />points 001, 002, 003). Samples will be collected monthly when discharge occurs. <br />These samples will be analyzed for. pH, flow, settleable solids, oil and grease when a <br />visible sheen is observed. <br />On a quarterly basis (January, April, July, and October), when discharge occurs, <br />surface water will be analyzed for: pH, iron, manganese, EC, oil and grease (when a <br />visible sheen is observed), flow, TDS, TSS, sulfate, and settleable solids. <br />Sun Coal Company is authorized to discharge at the specified locations under NPDES <br />permit NCOG-850000 (facility li COG-850012) through June 30, 1997. <br />~ring_and Seep Survey <br />Sun Coal Company will conduct a spring and seep survey in the following manner: <br />1. Conduct the survey on the bacldilled area twice a year (June and late August) <br />• <br />2. If springs are noted on the backfilled area, the springs will be located on a <br />base map and reported to the CDMG in the annual monitoring report. <br />3. If the spring flow is greater than three gallons per minute, the flow will be <br />quantified and a sample will be obtained and analyzed for pH and EC. If <br />samples are obtained, Sun Coal Company will submit the results to CDMG <br />within 30 day after the results are received by Sun Coal. <br />4, If spring flow is not greater than three gallons per minute, spring and seep <br />results will be reported in the annual monitoring report. <br />• <br />Mid-Term Review <br />-377- <br />Revised 4/96 <br />
