Because mining is not planned in the
cropland areas and because the croplands are located outside the
area of influence of mining-related surface subsidence effects,
the croplands are not discussed in any further detail.
2.2.3 Residential Land
The residential land consists of the Riverbend Subdivision,
the Barton Porter Ranch and the Duncan Ranch. Because mining is
not planned in these residential land areas and because the
residential lands are located outside the area of influence of
mining-related surface subsidence effects, these residential lands
are not discussed in any further detail.
2.2.4 Wildlife Habitat
The majority of the surface land within and adjacent to the
proposed permit area is utilized for wildlife habitat as a
secondary use. Mining is planned under land utilized as wildlife
habitat.
2.5 Undeveloped Land
Most of the land in the proposed lease area is undeveloped
land. This undeveloped land primarily consists of slopes and rock
outcrops that limit their potential use. Mining is planned under
the undeveloped land.
2.2.6 Alluvial Valley Floor
Alluvial valley floor (AVF) material occurs along the
Colorado River, South Canyon Creek and Alkali Creek. AVF is
• discussed in detail in Section 5.1 of the permit application. AVF
locations within and adjacent to the permit area are shown on Map
5.1-1 in the permit application. Because mining is not planned in
page 19
