valley floor.
The monitoring program consisting of surface and ground
water monitoring will continue during the entire operation of the
CWZ coal loadout facilities, and the results will be presented to
the MLRD in annual reports. After the mining activities within
the permit area are terminated, monitoring will include the
surface and ground water and the agricultural production.
7.1 SURFACE WATER MONITORING
Because of the complex surface water drainage system and
predicted minimal impact of the coal loadout facility on the
essential hydrologic system of the area, only a limited surface
water monitoring system is recommended.
•
Surface water monitoring should consist of the following:
North Fork:
a) Measuring field water quality parameters monthly (p H,
conductivity and temperature) for one year at one
location.
b) Obtaining records of the monthly minimum, maximum, and
mean flow from the nearest USGS gaging station.
Farmers Ditch:
a) Measuring field water quality parameters monthly (p H,
conductivity and temperature) for one year at two
locatioRS.
r 1
LJ
20
GEOHYDRO CONSULTING, INC.
