Slope of site: <br />3 AtIHrNEb~.... ~u <br />Response: The natural slopes of the proposed mine area are less than one percent•:ao'"~~' <br />Vegetative cover: <br />Response: A description of the existing vegetation found on the site is found in the <br />reclamation report which has been prepared for this project by IME Environmental <br />Consultants. <br />3. Nearest river, creeks, drainages, lakes, etc.: <br />Response: The proposed mine area is located between 150 and 1,550 feet to the <br />south of the Yampa River and between 60 feet and 2,200 feet north of Trout Creek. <br />4. Rights for water to use during mining: <br />Response: The incidental amounts of water which will be used during mining will be <br />used primarily for dust suppression efforts and these waters will be obtained from sites <br />where the landowner has adJ~acent water rights. In addition, the Applicant will be filing a <br />well permit application with the Colorado State Engineer -Division of Water Resources <br />for the water rights associated with the water which will be exposed during this mining <br />operation, <br />5. Water augmentation plan if pond or lake reclamation: <br />• Response: In the event, that the Colorado Division of Water Resources determined in <br />connection that a water augmentation plan is necessary for this location, then that plan <br />will be prepared and a copy submitted to the Routt County Regional Planning <br />Department. <br />6. Affected irrigation ditches and/or structures: <br />Response: This action will not affect any irrigation ditches, or other water intake <br />structures. <br />7. Visual impacts: <br />Response: This action will have the most immediate visual impacts on the residences <br />located on the hill to the southeast of this site, which will be able to look down over the <br />tops of the Cottonwood trees and see the major portion of the disturbance area. These <br />impacts will be of a temporary nature and once reclamation is completed then it should <br />be very difficult to tell that the site was ever disturbed. <br />8. Visual screening: <br />a. existing: <br />b. proposed landscaping/berming: <br />Response: The Applicant and Operator have located the proposed mine area in a site <br />that is screened on two sides by large Cottonwood trees which will be affected by this <br />proposed mining operation. In addition, the phasing of the mining operation has been <br />. situated in such a manner as to ensure that mining commences on the west side of the <br />property and proceeds to the east. This will allow for the mine hiyhwall to effectively <br />screen the majority of the mining activities which will be located m the bottom of the <br />
