15. Estimated mineral reserves:
Resoonse: Based upon twelve exploration holes drilled with an auger to bedrock and •
four backhoe pits dug on this site, it is estimated that there are approximately 2,882,360
cubic yards or 5,361,189 tons of gravel which can be mined at this location.
SitelPhysical Description
16. Location, area, yardage and height of stockpile site(s):
Resoonse: The location of the proposed topsoil stockpiles is shown on Map 3,
Camilletti Milner Pit # 2 -Mine Plan Map. This shows that the topsoil will be stockpiled
along the eastern side of the pit so it can be used at the time of final reclamation of
each corresponding mine pit. Map 4, Camilletti Milner Pit # 4, Reclamation Plan Map
shows the potential reclamation areas which wilt potentially be covered by stockpiled
topsoil.
This area corresponds to approximately 1.5 acres. Due to the fact that there will be
contemporaneous reclamation, it is unlikely that there will be topsoil stockpiles more
than approximately 300 to 400 feet in length at any given time. Placement of the
stockpile in this location will aid by helping screen this gravel pit and reduce the post
mining reclamation costs since this material can be easily pushed down the hillside at
the time of final reclamation. Examination of the first years pit to the north of the natural
gas line, suggests that this stockpile will contain approximately 16,000 cubic yards of
material. This stockpile will be approximately 25 to 30 feet high.
The operator does not plan on creating any overburden stockpiles and with the •
exception of the first year of operation in Mine Block # 1, most of the removed
overburden materials will be backfilled into the previously excavated mine pits.
Overburden generated during the first year of mining, before there are any pits to
backfill, will be used to construct the proposed mine haul roads. During the first year df
operation the overburden materials will be used as road base to construct the mine
access road as shown on Map 3, Camilletti Milner Pit # 2 -Mine Plan Map. Overburden
which will be sold from this pit as clean fill, will be obtained from the active mine
workings and no overburden stockpile will be maintained on this site. All stockpiles of
either pit run gravel, or processed gravel will be stored as much as operationally
possible within the mine pit area.
Gravel stockpiles, as a rule of thumb, will be lower in height than the conveyor
associated with the crusher. This is usually less than 12 feet in height. However, some
stockpiled materials will be moved by front end loaders and placed in higher stockpiles.
In this event, these stockpiles will be lower in height than the adjacent pit highwalls and
since they will be effectively screened by the hillside on the east side of the property,
the operation mining pit area will be unobservable from the adjacent residences with the
exception of the landowners and from vehicles traveling along Routt County Road #
179. None of the stockpiles associated with the first two years of mining should be
visible from residences to the southeast or to the north in the Town of Milner due to the
Cottonwood trees which occur between the proposed mining areas and these
residences. However there is the possibility that some of the mining areas, including
portions of the stockpiles might be visible. The proposed haul road configuration has •
been designed as much as possible to ensure that the majority of the alignment is
hidden from view as much as conditions allow.
17. Location and area of processing site(s);
Response: Once there is sufficient room to work within the mine area, all gravel
