<br />RSSPONSS: <br />The cut and fill slopes on the haulroad will have a elope of <br />2:1 (H:V) rather than the 1:1 elope originally listed on Map #14. <br />Map 14a has been revised to reflect this change. The inside berm <br />elope will be graded to 1:1 which will be stable because of ongoing <br />berm maintenance. <br />2. In accordance with Rule 4.03.1(4)(a)(iii), the drainage ditches for <br />the haul road in a disturbed area and the associated sediment structures <br />must be designed for a 10-year, 24-hour storm and the design presented in <br />the permit application. <br />RESPONSE: <br />As shown in Table Sa of Exhibit 3, drainage culverts for the <br />proposed haulroad have been designed for the 10-year, 24-hour storm <br />at a minimum. The haulroad has been designed in accordance with <br />Rule 4.03.1. <br />Backfilling and Grading - Rules 2.05.3(b), 2.05.4(2)(x), 2.05.4(c), 4.09, <br />4.13 and 4.14 <br />A. Portal Pit Area <br />The applicant intends to backfill the abandoned Middle Creek Mine <br />portal pit according to cross sections submitted on Map No. 13. Some <br />previous concern was expressed as to whether the materials density tests <br />were adequate. It is apparent that the tests performed which indicate a <br />-36- <br />
