-5-
2.04.10 Vegetation Information
1. Exhibit H presents information for four (4) vegetation types. Based upon
a recent inspection of the site, the Division believes there are only two
(2) vegetation types in the proposed permit area:
a. Introduced Pasture Type (area transversed by the access road); and
b. Mountain Shrub Type (area disturbed by the mine benches).
A third vegetation type, the Ponderosa Pine and Dou las Fir Type, may
exist in the drainage area directly soutF~Mine enc es. Blue
Flame should check this drainage to determine if the representative
vegetation type is of the Mountain Shrub type or the Ponderosa Pine and
Douglas - Fir type. Depending upon what is determined after
investigating the vegetation in this drainage, Blue Flame should resubmit
this entire exhibit making it site specific to this site rather than
specific to the National King Coal site.
2. Page 2 of Exhibit H references Map C-5. The Division is unable to locate
this map; therefore, please submit Map C-5.
2.04.11 Fish and Wildlife Resource Information
Please submit the lildlife Inventory Statement from the Division of Wildlife
as addressed under Exhibit I.
2.04.12 Prime Farmland Investigation
Please submit the information requested pursuant to Rule 2.04.12 (2) and a
request for a negative determination pursuant to Rule 2.04.12(3).
2.05.2 Operation Plan - Estimated Area for Life of Operations
1. The map depicting the extent of the underground workings was certified on
May 2, 1973. The Division is concerned that the map may not accurately
reflect the complete extent of the underground workings since mining has
continued since 1973. Therefore, Blue Flame should submit either a
statement specifying this map is still accurately portraying mine
development or a map revised to reflect the current status of the
underground workings.
2. Blue Flame needs to specify the anticipated annual and total tonnage, the
mining equipment to be used, the surface mounted ventilation equipment,
and the other information requested pursuant to Rule 2.05.2(1).
3. Blue Flame should submit a map and associated description of the location
of the area proposed to be mined during the five year life of the permit
and any future anticipated five year terms.
2.05.3 Operations Plan - Permit Area
1. Blue Flame needs to provide information about the mine facilities as
requested pursuant to Rule 2.05.3(3).
