into this zone (Year 11), the potentiometric surface could be
identified. The data presented shows no aquifer in the permit
area.
7. The potential for the presence of perched ground
water zones was indicated in boreholes 7-27D1-11 and 7-27M-17,
as shown on Figure 4.4-1. In both of these boreholes, a small
amount of water was encountered at the bottom of the burned
part of the coal seam. Because of the limited extent of the
burned coal seam and its location on a steep slope, the condi-
tions for development of an aquifer and/or recharge zone for
an aquifer are not present.
8. Determination of dry boreholes is based on the results
3'
of the electric resistivity logs and/or on statements fh drillers'
or geophysical logs regarding the absence of water in the completed
boreholes.
2.04.7(2)
Analyses of all the parameters requested by the division
(as shown in Table 2.5-2) are now included in the application in
Tab1e.A.5-12. The future monitoring schedule is shown in Table
2.5-1.
2.04.7(3)
Because the proposed mining will not impact any aquifers
and because there is no adjudicated ground water within a 3-mile
radius of the permit area, and in lieu of information originally
provided, identification of an alternative water supply is not
pertinent.
-6-
