-7- <br />817.41 Hydrologic Balance: Ground Water <br />14. The applicant shall conduct a field survey of all springs between the Dry <br />Fork of Minnesota Creek and [he North Fork of [he Gunnison to confirm <br />sources of spring discharges (i.e., faults, fractures, landslides, rock <br />falls, and bedding contacts) and the geologic units from which they <br />emanate. The applicant shall prepare and submit to the regulatory <br />authority a report with appropriate maps, tables, and discussion within 6"' <br />months of the permit issuance for inclusion within the permit <br />application. <br />15. The applicant must install monitoring wells in, conduct pumping test on, <br />and monitor water levels and water quality in the alluvium of Dry Fork, <br />Lick Creek, South Prong, and Horse Creek one year prior to mining within <br />the watersheds of these streams. The applicant shall submit to the <br />regulatory authority the data and results of these tests and monitoring <br />along with projected impacts prior to conducting mining within any of [he <br />watersheds. <br />._ 16. At least two monitoring wells should be completed up-dip of the 5-y ear <br />permit area and within the F seam prior to commencement of mining. The <br />monitoring wells should be monitored monthly for water levels and <br />quarterly for water chemistry. The data gathered from the wells should <br />be submitted to the regulatory authority quarterly. <br />17. All monitor wells shall be monitored for water levels monthly and water <br />quality on a quarterly basis for the duration of the 1-year baseline data <br />collection period. All data shall be submitted to the regulatory <br />authority quarterly. <br />18. The applicant shall install and begin monitoring the two proposed <br />monitoring wells located over the first panel to be subsided one year <br />prior to mining this panel. The applicant shall submit to the regulatory <br />authority well completion reports, a monitoring schedule, ground~+ater <br />level data and water quality data prior to mining this panel. <br />19. The designs and locations of all monitor wells shall be provided to the <br />regulatory authority within 30 days of the permit issuance. Each <br />monitoring well installed subsequently shall be designed to sample one <br />geologic unit. The applicant shall submit to the regulatory authority a <br />completion report for each new well. A11 monitor wells shall be <br />monitored for water levels monthly and water quality on a quarterly basis <br />for the duration of the 1-year base-line data collection period. A11 <br />data shall be submitted to the regulatory authority quarterly. <br />20. The applicant's quarterly monitoring reports shall include quality and <br />quantity monitoring of all discharges from the minesite. Water quality <br />monitoring shall consist of the effluent limitations plus total dissolved <br />solids. <br />
