Criterion (lumber 5: Scenic Fe'_~ral Lands <br />Analysis: The BLh1-administered •lands ~rithin the lease area have <br />been designated by visual resource management analysis as Class <br />II, Only those Federal lands designated as Class I, and not <br />currently on the National Register of Natural Landmarks, shall be <br />considered as unsuitable. Therefore, this criterion is not applicable, <br />since no Class I areas have been identified. <br />Criterion Number 6: Lands Used for Scientific Studies <br />Analysis: Examination of the hiTP indicates no permits have been <br />issued for scientific studies on these Federal lands. <br />Criterion Number 7: Historic Lands and Sites <br />Analysis: About 150 acres of BLM-administered land in these lease <br />areas have undergone 100 percent Class III inventory (Applegarth <br />and Hurlbutt, 1977). One site, 5GN36, was located. SGIJ36 is the <br />remains of a ca. 1915-1926 homestead. It is not considered eligible <br />to the tational Register of Historic Places. A file search was <br />made at the Office of the State Archaeologist and in the National <br />Register of Historic Places (Federal Register, April 1, 1980, <br />Volume 45, Number 64), No additional sites eligible to or included <br />in the National Register were identified. <br />Due to the lack of identified sites eligible to or nominated for <br />the National Register within the leased area and given the provisions <br />/ as established in Criterion 7, 43 CFR 3461.1(9)(1) and given the <br />stipulations that will be applied under the Programmatic Memorandum <br />of Agreement regarding the Federal Coal Management Program, this <br />area is considered suitable. <br />Criterion Number 8: <br />Analysis: None <br />within the lease <br />National Natural <br />Criterion Number 9 <br />Natural Areas <br />of the Federal lands administered by the BLM <br />area have been designated as Natural Areas or <br />Landmarks. <br />Federally-Designated Endangered Species <br />Analysis: No endangered plant species have been documented in the <br />mountain brush zone in the tJorth Fork Valley. The lease tract <br />does not provide essential habitat for any Federally listed threatened <br />or endangered species. <br />Criterion Number 10: State-Listed Endangered Species <br />Analysis: No critical or essential habitat for plant or animal <br />species listed by the State as threatened or endangered have been <br />identified. <br />
