This report will cover 1,°80 acres of Federal lands contein.d in the . Federal coal leases C-1362, C-117192 and D-044569, manaoed by the BLM. The unsuitability criteria have been applied to the I;ational Forest lands within these leases by the U.S. Forest Service. One hundred and twenty (120) acres consist of Federal surface and minerals and the remaining acreage consists of federally-owned coal overlain by privately-owned surface. The Federal lands analyzed in this report are described as follows: T. 135., R. 9014., Sec. 9: Lots 1, Sec. 16: All Sec. 17: S;NWe, Sec. 18: SE;NE;, Sec. 19: Lots 6, Sec. 20: Lots 1, Sec. 30: Lots 5, 6th P.M. 2, 3, South of River in SW;SW', 5W: NEeSEa 7, 11, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20 2, 3, 4, 7, 8, NW;NEq, W'-=Wz, NEeNW: 6, 9 Gunnison County, Colorado The location of these Federal lands is shown on flap 1. _ UNSUITABILITY ANALYSIS Criterion Number 1: Federal Land Systems Analysis: The areas under study do not contain lands that are in- cluded in, or being recommended for, inclusion in the land systems or categories indicated in the criterion. Criterion Number 2: Rights-of-Way and Easements Analysis: The Master Title Plat (PiTP) far T. 135., R. 90W. shows no Federal rights-of-way. Plats at the Gunnison County Assessor's Office indicate no private rights-of-way. Criterion Number 3: Buffer, Zones Along Rights-of-Way and Adjacent to Coimiunities and Buildings Analysis: There are no public roads, cemetaries, public buildings, schools, churches, communities, institutional buildings, public parks or occupied dwellings on or within the required buffer zones on these private-surface lands. The criterion is not applicable. Criterion Number 4: Wilderness Study Areas Analysis: The BLM administers 120 acres of surface in the lands involved in the lease areas. BLM subsurface ownership is exempt from the wilderness review process. The 120 acres of BLM surface ownership were released from wilderness study consideration by Colorado State Director decision on or before October 15, 1979 (Final Initial Wilderness Inventory). Therefore, this criterion is not applicable.
