Basin Resource Area <br />2505 South Townsend Avenue <br />Montrose, Colorado 81401 <br />RE: Hamilton Mine Proposed Decision, Lillylands, Inc., File C-91-078 <br />Dear Mr. Belt: <br />Enclosed you will find the Colorado Mined Land Reclama_ion Division's Proposed <br />DeC1510n Package for the Hamilton Coal Mine. Netice of the propcsed decision <br />will be published in the San Miguel Basin FOfJm commencing Wednesday, <br />September lI, 1991. The first publication will initiate the thirty day (30) <br />public comment period for the Division's decision. <br />The proposed mine is located approximately 2 mi1e5 scutheast of Naturita in <br />Montrose County, Colorado. The mine is a surface mine with an anticipated <br />maximum production capacity of 300,000 tens per year. The coal to be mined is <br />privately owned and the surface to be affected is privately owned. The <br />proposed permit area enccmpasses approximately 677 acres in the E1/2, Ei/2 <br />Section 32 and Wl/2 Section 33, Township 4oN, Range 15W; NWl/4 Section 4 and <br />E1/2, NE1/4 Section 5, Township 45N, Range 15W of the New Mexico Principle <br />Meridian. <br />Persons with an interest that may be adversely affected by the proposed <br />derision may request a formal hearing on the propesed decision before the <br />Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Beard. Such request must be made within <br />thirty (30) days of September 11, 1991, must be in writing, and must state <br />with reasonable specificity the reasons for 'the request and the objections <br />to the proposed decision. <br />If you have any questions, please contact me. <br />Sincerely, ~1 <br />Carl B.
