Statement of Charles Overton public meeting 12 Dec 2006 Northfield Mine Project page 6 of 10 <br />Page 85 <br />Section 2.04. <br />(i) Minimum, maximum, and average flows which identify critical low <br />flow and peak discharge rates of streams sufficient to identify <br />seasonal variations; and <br />(ii) Water quality data from surface waters in, discharging into, or <br />which will receive.flows from surface or ground water from affected <br />areas within the proposed permit area, sufficient to identify <br />seasonal variations. Water quality sampling and laboratory <br />analyses will be conducted in accordance with 2.03.3(4) and shall <br />include: <br />(A) Total dissolved solids or electrical conductivity corrected <br />to 25 degrees centigrade (specific conductance); <br />(B) Total suspended solids in milligrams per liter; <br />(C) Acidity; <br />(D) pH; <br />(E) Total and dissolved Iron, in milligrams. per liter; <br />(F) Total Manganese, in milligrams per liter; and <br />(G) Such other information as the Division, for good cause <br />shown, determines is relevant. <br />~~o(zpq(3) Alternative Water Supply Information. The application shall <br />identify the extent to which the proposed surface coal mining <br />operations may. proximately result in contamination, diminution, or <br />interruption of an underground or surface source of water within the <br />proposed permit area and adjacent areas for domestic, agricultural, <br />industrial, fish and wildlife, or other legitimate use. If contamination, <br />diminution, or interruption may result, then the description shall <br />identify the alternative sources of water supply or sources of <br />augmentation water that could be developed to replace the existing <br />sources. The alternate or substituted water shall be of a quality and <br />quantity so as to meet the requirements for which the water has <br />normally been used.
