No archaeological sites eligible for the National Register
were found on any of the lease application areas.
L. Climate
The area encompasing the subject lease applications is sub-
ject to large seasonal and daily temperature variations.
In July, temperatures are expected to vary from 27° C (5 to F)
during the day to 6.7o C (44o F) at night, on the average.
January extremes vary from an average of Oo C (32o F) during
the day to -17o C (1,4o F) at night. The growing season
is expected to be about 60-70 days.
The average annual precipitation in the area varies from
about 16-20 inches. It is estimated that 90 days/year pre-
cipitation is greater than the detectable limit (.O1 inches,
.25 millimeters).
It is estimated that afternoon wind speeds in the area will
average 4 meters/second (8 mph) while evening winds average
3 meters/second (6 mph). Wind speeds greater than 10 mps
(20 mph) will occur during abrupt weather changes or storms.
Wind speeds of less than one mps (2 mph) are expected nearly
20 percent of the time at the site.
M. Air Quality
Midwest Research Institute (MRI) on behalf of Energy Fuels
Corporation conducted air quality studies and analyses for
Energy's Mines /~l, 2, and 3. An initial report was sub-
mitted to Energy Fuels Corporation on September 30, 1977,
76
