<br />for archaeological values in part by LOPA and reported <br />in Archaeological Reconnaissance of Proposed Coal Lease <br />Areas in Moffat, Rio Blanco, and Routt Counties, Colorado, <br />and in part by four BLM archaeologists. The area was <br />not 100% surveyed due to heavy vegetative ground cover. <br />The area will not be 100% surveyed prior to approval of <br />mining because the heavy vegetative cover prevents view- <br />ing the ground for cultural resources. One site has been <br />recorded by LOPA and two isolated finds were located by <br />BLM archaeologists. Site SRT24 is a lithic scatter and <br />has been given a significance level of S3 - not likely to <br />be eligible to the National Register. IF42 is a white chert <br />projectile point and IF 43 is a bifacially worked chert <br />fragment. One isolated find, IF44, of a chert flake was <br />located on application C-26913. <br />Coal lease application C-22b76 was surveyed by BLM arch- <br />aeologists in the same manner as indicated above. Two <br />prehistoric sites and six isolated finds were located. <br />Site SRT105 is a flake scatter with pieces of burned sand- <br />stone. It have been given a significance rating of 53 - <br />not likely to be eligible to the National Register. <br />Site SRT106 is also a lithic scatter with a chert blade <br />being located and has also been given a significance rating <br />of S3. IF36, IF38, and IF41 each consist of a single white <br />chert flake while IF 37 is two white chert flakes. IF39 <br />is a unifacial mono. IF 40 is a possible agate Basin <br />point fragment. <br />75 <br />
