Mr. Retschke
May 1, 1980
Page -3-

16) Reclamation costs will be figured using the following
equipment as guidelines:
Cat 225 Excavator
D98 Large Cat
D6 Sma11 Cat
988 Large Loader (6 yd. bucket)
20 ton truck
I2-G grader
The above 16 points were a summary of our meeting for the written record and
to resolve the issues generated by the meeting. Nore importantly, we need to
develop a timeframe to work through so we can get Grand Pfesa permitted at
the May Board meeting. Below is a Iist of the most important information
we require before we will issue a permit:
1) Soils: Rn analysis of the soil to be used far
reclamation, the amount that will be distributed
and a statement that whatever fertilizers and
nutrients required for proper reclamation, and
approved by the Division, will be added at the
time of reclamation.
2) Sediment Control: An adequate sediment control system
must be approved for the mine site and for the Zoad-
out. Although most of this has been completed, we
still need the following.
a) Statement of when pond will
be cleaned out (when it
reaches 60~ of sediment volume)
b) revised ditch sizing
c) pond cut and fill diagrams
d) schedule and parameters for
monitoring irrigation water
(5 parameters Todd suggested
will be sufficient)
3) Refuse Disposal Area: The site needs to be drilled
to 5' below the lowest point in the pit in taro places
(NW 6 SE) to determine the existance, if any, of a
water table which might infiltrate the disposal area.
-For the fill which is anticipated above the lip of
the pit (to the top of the highwall) we require the
stamp of a registered professional engineer under
the Interim Program for stability. Also, as pre-.
viously discussed, we require an accurate map of
the areal extent of the disposal area, as well as
an estimate of the amount of material to be placed
there during the Zife of the permit.
• If the material proves to be non-toxic, drilling
will not be necessary at this time.
(cont'd)
