Upper Basin Diversion Channel, Plate 1, will be revegetated <br />along its entire course. (Top and subsurface soils not used in <br />channel reclamation will be stocl~iled from the construcCion of <br />this Channel for use in other areas during final reclamation and <br />abandonment.) Side slopes (2:1) of the Channel will be fertilized <br />and seeded with seed mixture ~p3*, hydraulically. Additionally, <br />jute mesh will be placed to prevent major erosion during the <br />establishment of the vegetative ground cover. Native plant materials <br />will be added above the flow line after establishment of the base <br />vegetation. The area will be used as wildlife habitat upon <br />abandonment of mining activities. <br />2. Mine Benches and Access Roads, Plate 1, will be covered <br />with approximately 12" of sub-soil and 6" of topsoil. The final <br />configuration of the landscape on the benches will be relatively <br />flat. Soil amendments** will be added and the areas will be seeded <br />with mixture No. 2. Hydro-mulching with wood cellulose fibers <br />will then be accomplished. Native vegetation will be added upon <br />the establishment of the grass ground cover.
