One of the wildlife species mentioned which occurs in the permit area was the beaver. The applicant should delineate the riparian habitat of the beaver on the vegetation map. 2.04.1Z(a) 2. The applicant must discuss the species of fish which exist in the permit area. 2.09.11 (a) 2.04.12 Prime Farmland 1. A discrepancy exists in the application as to whether cultivation . has occurred in the permit area. In the Cultural Resources section of the application states that the refuse area had been under cultivation at one time. The applicant should resolve this discrepancy. 2.04.12 2.05 Operation and Reclamation Plans 2.05.2 Estimated Area for Life of Operation 1. The applicant should provide a description with appropriate maps for each area for which a new five year permit will be required. The anticipated sequence of mining and reclamation should also be supplied for these areas. 2.05.2(2) 2.05.3 Operation Plan - Permit Area (1) Production Methods and Equipment 1. A detailed description of mining methods and engineering tech- niques for the area of the permit southwest of the syncline should be submitted. The hydrologic consequences of mining this steeply dipping seam are of concern. 2. The applicant should identify entries No. 1 North and No. 2 North on Map DOR-5. 3. If the area underlying the Hastings lease is to be mined in the next five years, a mine plan must be submitted. (2) Operation Description 1. More information is required regarding methods of pulling pillars because this method increases the probability of subsidence. 2.05.3(2) (see section 2.05.6(6) for further discussion of subsidence) (4)
