2.09.10 Vegetation Information <br />1. The reference areas need not be fenced unless identification of <br />species due to over grazing might be a problem. 2.04.10(2) <br />2.04.11 Fish and Wildlife Resources Information <br />1. One of the wildlife species mentioned which occurs in the permit <br />area was the beaver. The applicant should delineate the <br />riparian habitat of the beaver on the vegetation map. 2.04.1Z(a) <br />2. The applicant must discuss the species of fish which exist in <br />the permit area. 2.09.11 (a) <br />2.04.12 Prime Farmland <br /> <br />1. A discrepancy exists in the application as to whether cultivation . <br />has occurred in the permit area. In the Cultural Resources <br />section of the application states that the refuse area had <br />been under cultivation at one time. The applicant should <br />resolve this discrepancy. 2.04.12 <br />2.05 Operation and Reclamation Plans <br />2.05.2 Estimated Area for Life of Operation <br />1. The applicant should provide a description with appropriate <br />maps for each area for which a new five year permit will be <br />required. The anticipated sequence of mining and reclamation <br />should also be supplied for these areas. 2.05.2(2) <br />2.05.3 Operation Plan - Permit Area <br />(1) Production Methods and Equipment <br />1. A detailed description of mining methods and engineering tech- <br />niques for the area of the permit southwest of the syncline <br />should be submitted. The hydrologic consequences of mining <br />this steeply dipping seam are of concern. <br />2. The applicant should identify entries No. 1 North and No. 2 <br />North on Map DOR-5. <br />3. If the area underlying the Hastings lease is to be mined in the <br />next five years, a mine plan must be submitted. <br />(2) Operation Description <br />1. More information is required regarding methods of pulling pillars <br />because this method increases the probability of subsidence. <br />2.05.3(2) (see section 2.05.6(6) for further discussion of <br />subsidence) <br />(4) <br />
