Surface Water Information 1. The name of each drainage, description of all springs and a description of the seasonal variations of water flow within each drainage should be supplied. 2.04.7(2)(a) A11 water bodies should be clearly identified. (see 2.04.7(4)) 2. Insufficient baseline data has been provided relating to surface water. Ttzis data or a plan 'for obtaining the data required by this section must be supplied for approval by the Division. 2,04,7(2)(b) (see section 2,05,6(3) for details on monitoring plans) 3. Minimum, maximum and average flows must be provided for Newlin Creek and Magpie Creek. 2.04.7(2)(b)(i) 4. The location of sampling statiohs for surface water quality must be identified. If no flow was recorded in Newlin Creek, how were water samples obtained? 2.04.7(2)(b)(ii) 5. Describe in detail the diversion of Newlin Creek by the City of Florence. 2.04.7(2)(b)(ii) Maps 1. A clear, readable hydrology map must be provided, 2.04.7(4)(a) 2. A map must also be provided which shows all of the surface water control structures in the permit area and the discharge points for all adjacent mines pursuant to 2.04,7(4)(d) and 2.04.7(2)(a) 3. The Division needs more information on the Dorchester-GEC diversion of Magpie Creek mentioned on page 19. We need a map showing pre- and post-routing locations, cross-sections at various locations, particularly at the inlet and outlet. The Division also needs a profile of the pre- and post-routing condition of the creek. This information is needed to assess stability and impacts. 2.04.7(4)(d) 4. The locations of alI spoil, waste and non-coal waste disposal areas must be delineated on this map. 2.04,7(4)(e) 5.
