<br /> <br />816.156 Roads: Class I: Restoration <br />a) Reclamation of the right of way. Roadbeds will <br />be rounded and shaped to conform to the adjacent <br />terrain and to meet natural drainage restoration <br />standards. In areas of large road fills, some <br />of the material may have to be hauled to the desig- <br />nated excess spoil sites. Cut slopes will be shaped <br />to blend with the natural contour and cross drains, <br />dikes, and water bars constructed to minimize <br />erosion. To prevent excessive erosion and provide <br />long term stability, terraces will be constructed <br />as needed. At the completion of regrading, top- <br />. soiling and revegetation will commence in accordance <br />with 30 CFR 816.111-.116. (v3, pp. 816-202-203) <br />-The Applicant will comply. <br />b) Road surface materials. The non-acid forming/ <br />non-toxic-forming gravel surfacing material will <br />be left in the body of the road fill material that <br />is to be blended into the surrounding terrain and <br />topsoiled under the road restoration program of <br />30. CFR 816.156. (v3, p. 816-203) <br />816.160 Roads: Class II: General <br />a) Erosion and damage to public property. Three <br />roads in the permit area qualify as Class II Roads: <br />the road from the office complex to Haul Road B, <br />designated Road H, the road from the Shop/i•Iarehouse <br />across the railroad tracks to County Road 27, <br />designated Road F; and the road from Haul Road C <br />to the explosives bunker, designated Road G. Their <br />total length is approximately 1.5 miles. No new <br />Class II Roads are proposed for the permit area. <br />A11 existing Class II Roads are designed and will <br />be reconstructed to meet the applicable regulatory <br />requirements of 30 CFR 816.161-.166 and to minimize <br />erosion and siltation, air and water pollution, and <br />damage to public or private property. Existing <br />sedimentation ponds presently control erosion from <br />Class II Roads. Under the new Permanent Regulations, <br />the entire drainage control system has been redesigned. <br />(v3, pp. 816-203-204) <br />The Applicant will comply. <br />b) Fish and wildlife values. No fish and wildlife <br />damage will result from the construction, operation <br />and maintenance of the existing Class II Roads. All <br />existing natural drainages have been maintained by <br />the use of culverts and ditches.
