Potential raptor nesting sites are shown in Appendix I - West-Central Colorado Coal EIS. 15.2 Information noted above was taken from DOW input into the West-Central Colorado Coal EIS. 15.3 Scientific names have been added to Tables 4.3-6 and 4.3-7. 15.4 These Tables have the source of information identified. The wildlife plan (Section 4.3.10) adequately addresses the protection of wildlife for the term of this under- ground mining operation. 15.1.a. No power lines proposed - see application. 15.1.b. The use of pesticides is addressed in the re-written Chapter 3.0. 15.1.c. Selection of plant species has been re-done and included in Chapter 3.0 and Section 4.5. 15.1.d. Best technology currently available is reflected in protective measures to be used in relation to truck - large mammal collision on the State Highway during truck haulage. No changes are made in wildlife plan (Section 4.3.10). Pages 8 and 9 16. The ground water Section was re-written in its entirety and addresses all relevant questions. Pages 9 and 10 17. (para. 1 and 2). Figure 2.2-3 has been modified to detail the flow of water in and around the disturbed area of the operation. Pages 10 and 11 18. The Soils Section (9.4) has been revised and re-written in its entirety. The revision reflects responses to all re- lated questions. 19. A minimum of detail is included on the subject of alterna- tive water supply as it is clear that the operation will not be a source of substantial impact on a water supply. Water rights held by SEI are identified in Sections 2.1.7 and 2.4.3. 20. No additional climatological information has been provided in lieu of the identification of the Emmissions Permit from the Colorado Department of Health. -5-
