13g. (para. 5). The text has been changed to correct the
error pointed out by the reviewers, and also identifies
each mine referenced for water inflow from coal seams
in the region.
12. The entire vegetation and reclamation sections have been
re-written to address all noted concerns on pages 4, 5 and 6.
Page 7
13. All requested information has been included in Section 4.5.
Land use classification has been provided as Appendix K.
14a. A pre-mining slope map has been provided as Figure 2.2-4.
14b. A negative statement has been included in Section 2.1.6 on
the existence of abandoned underground mines in the mine
plan area.
14c. This item was not addressed in the application.
14d. No surface water springs, drains or irrigation ditches
exist in the permit area, therefore, maps showing these
features were not provided.
14e. (See item 14a).
14e. (para. 2). No waste is generated with this underground
operation. In the event of major roof falls, this materi-
al, along with other development rock will be transported
to Munger Canyon for disposal. This rock disposal area is
addressed in that permit application.
The material on the canyon bottom is identified as the
material removed from the steeper cut areas along the
access road. (See pages 2-16 and 2-17 of Section 2.2).
14e. (para. 3). A major effort has not been made to include a
negative statement for everything that is not planned for
the operation. Those facilities specifically noted in this
paragraph are not planned and therefore do not appear in
the application.
15.1.1. It is noted in the text, and confirmed in the West-Central
Colorado Coal EIS that there are no specific, narrow migrat-
ion routes for deer and elk. Wildlife maps included in the
Regional EIS are included in Appendix I.
15.1.b. Numbers estimates have been added to Section 4.3.2. This
information was taken from DOW input to the West-Central
Colorado Coal EIS.
15.1.c. Figure 4.3-1 was added to information provided for review,
showing specific inventory sites. The large amount of ran-
dom sampling is not shown.
-4-
