•Two
Section 2.09.6 Geology Description ~,
1. Surface Mining
1. A detailed site specific geology map is required. The map
should include but not be limited to; any faulting and
folding in the area, all aquifers in the area pursuant to
2.04.7, any Quaternary Alluvium deposits in the area and all
major rock formations in the area. 2.04.6(1)(a)
2. In order for the Division to make a determination regarding
the ability of the operator to achieve the proposed post-mining
topography more detailed information is needed. The cross-sections
described in the previously submitted overburden calculations
would be adequate. They should be submitted in a form that
would allow them to be incorporated easily into the present
permit application. 2.09.6(1)(a)(i)
' 3. The detailed drill hole 1.og for CRC11.80 is needed. 2.09.6(1)(b)(i)(B)
4. The methods used to compute swell factors are needed, supported
by the appropriate data. This is needed to assist in the de-
termination of the ability to achieve the proposed post-mining
topography. 2.09.6(1) (6) (i) (C)
5. Although the assessment of the overburden and innerburden was
well presented, the analyses may be inadequate due to the
limited categories analyzed. Attached as Appendix A is a list
of the overburden parameters requested by the Division to make
written findings related to".hydrologic consequences and poten-
tial for reclamation. Should the applicant feel that adequate
information has been obtained from on-site data collection or
another substantiated source to indicate that a paramater or
parameters do not warrant testing, then a thorough analytical
discussion related directly to the specific characteristics of
the mine should be included in the application: 2.04.6(1)(b)(i)(D)
6. The coal needs to be analyzed for pyrite content, marcasite
content, ~ of organic sulfur present and amount of sulfate
sulfur. This information is needed for the Division to make
written findings related to hydrologic consequences and recla-
mation of the operation. 2. 09.6(1)(b)(i)(E)
Section 2.04.7 Hydrology Description
1. Ground Water Information
Clarification of the term, "Recharge test" is needed. Also,
values.for transmimissivity and storativity of the aquifers
accompanied with the methods used to analyze these variables.
2, 04.7(1)(b)
Section 2.09.9 Soils Resource Information
1. The depths at which soild were segergated (topsoil, subsoil) fnr
the analysis of its suitability as a plant growth medium needs
to be explained. This is needed to determine the adequacy of the top-
soil salvage plan to achieve the proposed post-mining land use.
2.04.9(1) (c) (b)
