I
have not received a response from your department regarding my letter. Please provide me with
information regarding this requested meeting or any other meetings involving this proposed mining
project. (I have read your email response dated 11/22/06 to Mr. Charles Overton (included below) and
am now aware or the scheduled 12/12/06 public meeting in Florence , CO at 1PM.)
I am very interested in this project because the proposed mining permit includes about 80% -90% of my
property. Additionally, Map 7 Mine Plan of the mining permit indicates that a northern portion of my
property will be included in the actual under ground mining operation. My greatest concern is the
functioning of my private well that provides water to my house. The well is slow. It is rated at 1 gallon
per minute. As you can imagine any water that the mine may divert from my well would be disastrous
to my family.
I also reviewed the subject permit application at the Clerk and Recorders Office in the Fremont County
Courthouse along with Mr. Overton. From my understanding of the hydrology report, it fails to take
into account either the private wells immediately to the south or those in the mine permit area as per Mr.
Overton's email, subject Northfield Mine Project dated 11/20/2006 (included below).
In addition, I discovered that Tab "B" of the permit has errors in the enclosure titled "ADJOINING
11 /24/2006
