Requirement No. 12
THE APPLICANT MUST SUBMIT A MAP SHOWING THE EXISTING
LIGHT-Q.SE ROADS USED TO ACCESS MONITORING FACILITIES. IN
ADDITION, THE INFORMATION REQUIRED BY RULE 4.03.3 MUST BE
SUBMITTED. IF ANY OF THESE ROADS ARE NOT IN COMPLIANCE WITH
RULE 4.03.3, A PLAN TO BRING THEM INTO COMPLIANCE MUST BE
SUBMITTED."
SRM Response:
The light duty roads used to access monitoring facilities by
Storm Ring Mines were constructed as part of the exploration
program or were pre-existing. These roads continue to provide
the company with the means to perform the water monitoring as
required. Operation plan maps, Figures 4.2-3, 4.2-4 and 4.2-5
have been revised to accurately delineate these light duty roads.
Storm Ring requests a joint inspection with MLRD of the light
duty roads used for monitoring, to determine their compliance
with Rule 4.03.3. This inspection can be performed as soon as it
is convenient for MLR, and as weather and site conditions permit.
During this inspection any areas which are determined to be in
non-compliance with 4.03.3 will be addressed. Storm King Mines
will commit to the necessary work required to place the light
duty road system in compliance within 9 months of permit
issuance. Prior to any re-construction or repair of light duty
roads, plans will be submitted to MLR for their approval.
Because the land owners have requested that Storm Ring Mines
retain these roads after mine closure, it is proposed that these
roads be exempt from reclamation as outlined in Rule 4.03.3(7).
Please see attached land owner letters.
12) Ref: Bonding - Rule 2.05.4(21(bl and Rule 3
MLR Comment:
"The Division currently cannot make a finding concerning bonding.
The following information must be submitted before the Division
can approve the permit application:
Requirement No. 13
THE APPLICANT MUST SUBMIT AN ESTIMATE OF THE COST OF REMOVING
ALL STRUCTURES IN THE PROPOSED PERMIT AREA, INCLUDING
PIPELINES AND TRANSMISSION LINES.
