Mr. Sam Arentz -2- June 4, 1984 <br />The company is aware of the inadequacies in surface water, ground water, and <br />geologic baseline. The company needs to incorporate the additional baseline <br />data in their discussion of probably hydrologic consequences of mining, and <br />alluvial valley floors discussion. Additional detail is also needed in the <br />operations plan to evaluate the applicant's assessment of probable hydrologic <br />consequences of mining and impacts to alluvial valley floors. The company has <br />been made aware for deficiencies in the operations plan and discussion of <br />probable hydrologic consequences of mining sections. <br />Additional adequacy questions may arise once the applicant has submitted the <br />additional information requested in the preliminary adequacy comment letter. <br />Additional adequacy questions may arise concerning the following rules: <br />Rule 2.04.5 -General Description of Hydrology and Geology; <br />Rule 2.04.6 -Geologic Description; <br />Rules 2.04.6(1) and (2) - Ground and Surface Water Description; <br />Rule 2.05.6(3) - Protection of the Hydrologic Balance; <br />Rule 4.05.2 -Water Quality Standards and Effluent Limitations; <br />Rule 4.05.11 - Ground Water Protection; <br />Rule 4.05.12 - Protection of Ground Water Recharge Capacity; <br />Rule 4.05.13 - Ground and Surface Water Monitoring; and <br />Rule 4.05.15 -Water Rights and Replacement. <br />If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to give me a <br />call. <br />incerely, <br />m Herron <br />clamation Specialist <br />JH/ep <br />Enclosure <br />Doc.
