IiFor <br />additional i.nformati.on on disposal oC excess rock, pldase <br />see the discussion of compliance with 30 CPR 717.15 above <br />and also Appendi>: I (attached). <br />(5)(6) &(7) 'L'he Pinnl Reclamation and Abandonment Plan <br />will meet the goals of mined Land reclamation relative to <br />the post-mining land uses as indicated including: (1) ,grazing <br />areas for domestic animals; (2) wildlife habitat; (3),conunerical <br />fruit orchards. <br />Reclamation will be accomplished throughout the 1•ife of <br />the project. Upon completion of mining activities, alll equip- <br />ment, buildings, electric power lines, water tanks, sdwage <br />treatment facilities, loading equipment, etc. will be 'removed <br />from the landscape. After removal, aI1 areas of disturbance <br />will be cleaned of debris and revegetated. General a pects of <br />the technical methodology for accomplishing reclamati n/revege- <br />tation have been discussed in the Mine Plan. ~ <br />The following outline discussion indicates the approach <br />to reclamation in various areas. These descriptions will <br />augment Plates 1, 2, and 3. (Attached) Note that thesle plates <br />show final post-mining contours of the entire permit Brea. A11 <br />buildings have been removed and topsoil storage areaslhave <br />been designated. Topsoil will be spread out from those locations <br />for final reclamation. <br />A. U~ er~Basin Diversion Channel, Plate 1, will e <br />revegetated along its entire course. (Top and subsur ace soils <br />not used in channel reclamation will be stockpiled fr~im the <br />construction of this channel for use in other areas daring <br />final reclamation and abandonment.) Side slopes (2:1~ of <br />the channel will be fertilized and seeded with seed m}}xture <br />No. 3%~, hydraulically. Additionally, jute mesh will )be placed <br />to prevent major erosion during the establishrtcent of ~he <br />vegetative ground cover.
