Mine Benches and Access Roads, Plate 1, will b~ covered <br />with approximately 12 of sub-soil and 6" of topsoil. 'The <br />Final configuration of the landscape on the benches will be <br />relatively flat. Soil amendmcnts~'~% will be added and he areas <br />will be seeded with mixture No. 2. Ilydro-mulching wit' wood <br />cellulose fibers will then he accomplished. Native ve etation <br />will be added upon the establishment of the grass grou d cover. <br />These areas SJ111 be used as grazing areas and wildlife habitat <br />upon abandonment of mini n}{, activities. <br />C. Mine Spoil llum~ Areas, P1atc ], will be placed~in four <br />stages o~ compacted lifts. Upon completion of each ofthese <br />lifts Che face of the slope will be covered with 12 inches <br />of topsoil. The soil will receive amendments as appropriate <br />and will be seeded with mixture No. 3. Upon completiofl of <br />the seeding, excelsior erosion blankets will be 1a id. When <br />the ground cover has established native vegetation wil~ be <br />planted on the slopes. Benches between lifts will he topsoiled <br />and seeded in the same manner. Here a hydro-mulch wi1i1 be <br />used to hold the seed and moisture until establishmentiof the <br />ground cover. Native plank will then be added. The hntire <br />area of the Mine Spoil Dump will be a wildlife habitat area. <br />D. Sediment Retention Check Dams, will be graded,i topsoiled <br />and seeded with seed mixture No. Native vegetation will be <br />added upon establishment of grasses. These areas wil)li be <br />wildlife habitat areas upon completion of mining activities, <br />E. Coal Storage and ParkinY Area, Plate 1, will b'e covered <br />with approximate-~-1~"~uT~--soil and 6" of topsoil.i The final <br />configuration of the landscape on the benches will belrelatively <br />flat.
