The prime vege~al <br />characteristics on this site in their natural state are <br />approximate ground cover and total annual production. <br />Reclamation Procedures <br />Mining commenced in August of 1974 using crawler <br />tractors with rippers and push scrapers to remove the <br />overburden. The uncovered coal was then drilled, blaster <br />and hauled to the tipple site. All available topsoil was <br />stripped prior to any mining-related disturbances. <br />1. Spoil Replacement and Grading <br />Mining commenced at a point slightly west of t'~e <br />1/4 corner of Sections 1 and 2, t4ining progressed from the <br />coal outcrop downhill. in a westerly direction to a point <br />where the coal became too deep to economically strip, t~:en <br />proceeded in an easterly direction along the ridge into <br />Section 2. Spoil created from the initial cut was deposited <br />into spoil areas; one directly north.of the initial cut and <br />one located south of the cut. <br />.> <br />From August, 1974 until February, 1975, Energy <br />-Fuels hired a contractor to remove the overburden and ccal. <br />They cancelled their contract with EFC and pulled their ::en <br />
