Replace the deteriorating concrete cap over the hoist shaft and place a concrete cap over <br /> the ventilation shaft. Compacted areas will be ripped and seeded. <br />Golden Quality D: Original entry cut off by high wall of subsequent Carestia strip mine. Water draining from <br />No. 3 exposed main drift. Water is high in iron and salts. Flow in 1980 is the first in several <br /> years. <br />Golden Quality *: One horizontal opening. Mouth of adit is 5' high, 10' wide, well supported by timbers; <br />No. 5 intact ad it goes into hillside more than 100'; no access deterrent. <br />Horseshoe Z: Production by Longwell, and Room and Pillar mining techniques. <br />(Blue Ribbon) <br /> Reclamation plans awaiting landowner consent -- Backfill the ad its using on-site riprap and <br /> coal waste material. Backfilled areas and coal waste removal areas will be topsoiled and <br /> revegetated. <br />L. & C. No. 2 F: Reference 2 notes that the mine was closed and sealed in 1960 because of the Big 3-Dutch <br />(L. & C.) Oven fire. <br /> Reclamation plans awaiting landowner consent -- Backfill the ad it with riprap and by <br /> collapsing the face-up area.
