Portal of steep incline is triangular opening about 7' by 7' by 10'. <br />(Eagle) Incline goes underground an unknown distance. Steep, sloping trough leads down to portal <br />lies about 10' below surrounding surface. No access deterrent. <br />Fox mine area scheduled Spring (1984) reclamation: <br />Old Fox slope -- Removing the trash from the incline depression and backfilling with riprap <br />and coal waste material, from a nearby pile. All disturbed areas will be revegetated. <br />Backfilling the open incline with large, riprap and coal waste material from a nearby pile. <br />Highway S: Miners report that no subsidence occurred over Hi-way Mine. <br />Hi-way) <br />Eversman) This area, listed as undermined on Colton-Lowrie map, has had problems with drainage. <br />(Hartman) Pipeline has been installed in an attempt to alleviate problem. Owner feels problem may be <br />due to poor percolation in clayey soil rather than subsidence. <br />F: There was a fire at the base of the shaft; all the machinery was recovered, but the tipple <br />was destroyed. <br />Industrial S: Subsidence pits? Several pits with average depths of 3' occur near mine dump.
