Cablo <br />has been in use one year. Hook used on end of cable chain hook,the <br />samo being in use one year. There era no devices employed to pre- <br />vent over•~winding, idaterial is hoisted from one level. <br />The bell line consists 1~2 in, hemp rope and is good. Tho state <br />code of signals is employed,thay are posted in engine room,at col- <br />lar of shaft and at each level station, <br />All persons are prohibited from riding on loaded bucket ,this order <br />is posted at collar of shaft. the bucket is filled at chuto,tram- <br />med to shaft and hooked on chain hook, <br />There is but one opening at all level stations. All 'level sta- <br />tions are provided with guard rails. The shaft is secured by pil- <br />lar of ground upon each aide sufficient to ensure safety. All win- <br />zes or mill holes are covered or surrounded with guard rails, <br />The shaft is not being sunk. Shaft house over collar of shaft. <br />The method of ore extraction is that of drifting and over-hand sto- <br />it~g vrith hand drills both single and double .• <br />The method of timbering is that of drift sota,combination sets and <br />solid cribs. The timbering is sufficient. <br />The timbers used are white spruce prepared at mill and are good. <br />Ordinary 3-in. plank chutes with wooden elide gates are employed. <br />Under ground tramming is done by menual labor With steel bucket <br />and truck. Trackage 18 in. guape 8 lb rails. <br />The ventillation is natural and aufficient.I'Naxioua gases are not <br />met with. Sanitary'conditiona are good. All old timbers have <br />boon removed from underground workings wherever necessary, •The <br />abaft is divided into two compartmenta,bucket way and man way. <br />~' <br />
