~: <br />SURFACE PLANT. <br />Strike of about <br />(dipping <br />Average <br />iartzose <br />much free <br />opper <br />olesa, by <br />ixtg to <br />soots at <br />P the shaft <br />t, and <br />rly ver- <br />se about <br />at shoot, <br />The surface plant consists of a frame shaft house, 60 x 110 ft, <br />covered with iron, The eastern portion of the building is taken <br />up by the ore sorting room, powder thawer, and office, while the <br />western pawtion contains the shaft Dollar, whioh is supplied <br />with a two post head frame, of 10 x 10'e, same being 35 ft, high, <br />well oonstrnoted and supplied with a 54 in. iron sheave wheel. <br />The shaft Dollar is also raised to a height of 20 inches above <br />in <br />the floor to prevent anyone from tripping or falling the shaft, <br />and it is also provided with a good door; a blacksmith shop, <br />16 x 17 ft „ same being partitioned off to itself; a Jackson, <br />link motion olutah gear, double motion, 8 x 14, 5b H, P, Hoisting <br />Engine, in good condition, operated by engineer, who stands at <br />engine., and supplied with a Hendrie & Bolthoff target indicator, <br />in plain view of the operator; two, horizontal return tubular <br />boilers, the first being of Mine & Smelter make, 60 H. P. and the <br />other, a Hendrie & Bolthoff, 80 H. P. (The former has been in <br />use 6 years, and the latter 2 yearel, Pdine water is supplied to <br />the boilers, whioh carry a pressure of 100, and were inspected in <br />March, 1903. Pdine run soft coal, from the Northern fields ie <br />used as fuel, A two H,.P. upright steam engine, operates the <br />blow~ra in the blacksmith shop. As stated before, the office, <br />whioh is 8 x 10, ie petitioned off from the S. E, corner of the <br />shaft house; the ore bins are situated about 100 ft. north of the <br />shaft. Eliotrloity is used in lighting the surface. Fire pro- <br />tection ie afforded by hose connection with pump. <br />
