<br />ORE BODIES AND ORES. <br />The vein of the Running Lode, is a fissure, having a strike of abo <br />north 60 degrees east, and being practically vertioal, (dipping <br />about twenty feet to the north in' five hundred feet) Average <br />x'idth of vein, about two ft. The vein Pilling is a quartzose <br />and feldspathic mixture, highly silieioua and parrying muoh free <br />quartz, accompanied by concentrated seams of galena, copper <br />pyritea,'(Chalcopyrite) Iron Pyrites and Sphalerite, <br />P~4ost all of the ore mined is placed in the "smelting" pleas, by <br />a system of careful hand sorting, the poorer grades going to <br />the stamp mills and concentrator. There are two ore shoots at <br />present being operated upon, both of whioh, are west of the shaft, <br />The first shoot begins about 30 ft, above the 6th level, and <br />extends to about 30 ft, above the 10th, same being nearly ver- <br />tioal, with a length of about 385 ft. The second beg,zne about <br />30 ft, above the 9th, and extends down west o~ the first shoot, <br />with dimentiona undetermined, <br />
