E%PLOSIVES. <br />The nature of the explosive used is a 40~, 7~8 in. California <br />Giant Powder- Charaoter of fuse used, German ineoloid. Iron <br />and metal tamping bare were found employed, but their use <br />ordered discontinued. The explosives are stored in a frame <br />magazine, 6 x 8 oovered with iron, situate 20 ft. S. E, of shaft- <br />house, and 60 ft. S. E. of shaft. The powder is thawed in a <br />small room, petitioned from the R. F.. corner of the shaft-house, <br />same being heated by exhaust steam. Oils and oandlea are stored <br />in room adjoining polder thawer. <br />
