Colowyo C-1981-019 <br />27 March 2006 <br />Pg 2/3 <br />Hydrologic Balance (cons): -Sump 3 contained water approximately two feet below <br />the top at the time of the inspection. The sump was stable at the time of the <br />inspection. <br />- Sump 4 contained water approximately three feet below the top at the time of the <br />inspection. The sump was stable at the time of the inspection. <br />-Sump 5 contained water approximately two feet below the top at the time of the <br />inspection. The sump was stable at the time of the inspection, <br />-The West Pit Pond (NPDES 008A) contained water approximately 8 feet below the <br />discharge pipe and was not discharging. The West Pit contains all of the water from <br />this ponds watershed. The pond embankment was well vegetated and stable at the <br />time of the inspection, No erosional problems were noted on the embankment at <br />the time of the inspection. <br />-The East Taylor Pond (NPDES Ol OA) contained water approximately 8 feet below the <br />discharge pipe and was not discharging. The West Pit contains all of the water from <br />this ponds watershed. The pond embankment was well vegetated and stable at the <br />time of the inspection. No erosional problems were noted on the embankment at <br />the time of the inspection. <br />-The Section 16 Pond (NPDES 009A) was inaccessible due to snow at the time of the <br />inspection. <br />-The Gossard Pond (NPDES 003A) contained water approximately three feet below <br />the riser pipe and was not discharging at the time of the inspection. The pond <br />embankment was well vegetated and stable and there were no erosional problems <br />noted at the time of the inspection. <br />-The Rail Loop Pond (NPDES 006A) was inaccessible at the time of the inspection <br />because a train was being loaded. <br />-The Stoker Siding Pond (NPDES 005A) contained water approximately five feet <br />below the discharge pipe and was not discharging, The pond embankment was <br />well vegetated and appeared to be stable at the time of the inspection. No <br />erosional problems were noted on the pond embankment, <br />- The Streeter Pond (NPDES OOIA) was not inspected on 27 March 2006 <br />- The Gulch A Pond (NPDES 004A) was not inspected on 27 March 2006 <br />- The Prospect Pond (NPDES 007A) contained water approximately seven feet below <br />the discharge pipe and was not discharging. The pond embankment was well <br />vegetated and appeared to be stable at the time of the inspection. No erosional <br />problems were noted on the pond embankment at the time of the inspection. <br />-The ditches along the haul road to the Gossard Loadout appeared to be clear and <br />functioning as designed. Overall, it appears as though the site is ready for spring. <br />Backfilling and Grading: -The operator continues to finish the regrading work at the <br />south east portion of the East Pit. The operator is recontouring this area, pulling spoil <br />up from the bottom of the ridge and grading it to its final, approved topography with <br />a dragline. They are almost to the low wall area of the open portion of the East Pit. A <br />lot of work has been completed since last fall and the work appears to be almost <br />finished. <br />
