Problem 3: Our admendment plan for the tailings pile on the N.E.
corner of the effected area will be at about 25 to 30 feet entending
out beyond the point at the time of inspection. This area will be level
so that it has a purpose in the project and usuable long after the
mining project is completed. The cut slope will began at the end of
the flat area and continue with a 4 % slope to follow the normal
contour of the original slope of the land and to eliminate erosion.
There will be a Storm Water Run Off at the East side that will run
completely around the edge of the tailings pile and heading North
into the main creek known as Cache Creek. With snow fall depth
between 14 feet and 18 feet on the site and approximately a 30 days
melt off this plan is the only plan we believe will work.
We want this information for the record: Your observation was not
correct in your statement when you stated "the waste pile was
,~
created by the operator. The waste pile was created by All Right
Mining and there was several thousand yards all stacked up in a
large pile which was being eroded by the spring melt and runoff,
washing the sand into Cache Creek. We leveled it off and filled in
with about 1500 yards of tailings. We did level it off and by doing so
it went beyong our east corner marker, we then laid a storm water
drain ditch along the base of the tailing pile. Mr. York-Fem took
pictures of the distrubence and also noted on his inspection sheet.
Find the enclosed picture of the area taken on June 24, 1992 before
we began mining on the property.
Observations from the inspector on page 2 of the report needs some
correction for the record.
The 8400 yards of material ran in the 12 seasons since receiving our
permit, of all the tailings from 8400 yards only 1500 yards went on
the waste pile. The remaining material in the form of washed stone
went on the drive ways and areas that needed renforcement, such as
building damns and laying culverts. This is what we call number 2
and number 4 stone. This is a by-product from our wash plant.
Approximately 2500 yards of this material was used for the
developemnt of the project site. The remaining amount of tailings
was returned to the pit area which was approximately 4000 cubic
yards and in the pictures being sent shows their placement.
Also noted on the same page of the inspection report some incorrect
information we would like corrected for the records.
