outlet end of the large culvert under the road to the former Newlin Creek mine site. This
material should not impede function and appears to be mostly related to the shallow grade at
the culvert outlet. No evidence of restriction of flow was noted at the inlet of this culvert.
~, .
.. -, ,
~-~'e - -~. ^ ~
• _' ~t ' y ~ 'l.
~ ~ }~ `~~'R- 1 :-'v7tSy, 1.
-7~~~ ~ ., ~ ... -vim°'v~~: •,.:~~ ~J 1 J
~ ..A-. -..~~, y ,... i~ ~1+~. ..yam
r 'ti :^
4' 1 ` , ''
~~ f
,~, ~'" ;i ~~'~ va ~K~r~..;<i, , i`~"'a~;~s t,~~ ~;~~ 2Q011 lfl 16 ` ~~;~1~,
~ ', ~. tad: i1r. With the exception of recently reclaimed areas along the west side of the RDA,
vegetation is good to excellent on the outslopes. Vegetative cover appears to inhibit the
formation of any rills or gullies. Older gullies on the north side have now healed through the
use of straw bales and the establishment of the permanent seed mix.
Revegetation
The growing season ~s effectively over at this site for the year. Vegetation on the reclaimed
areas has dried-down due to frost and cooler temperatures. Shrub transplant mortality
continues to be low at this time and disruption of rabbit guards protecting many of the shrubs
continues sporadically. Following termination of the inspection, George Patterson was met
along the road to the site- He indicated that EFMC was starting seeding activities associated
with NOV CV-2004-003 on this afternoon. As per step 2 of the NOV, seeding must be
completed by October 31, 2004.
Overall, areas inspected appeared in good condition for the fall season.
