7.4 Heeo Leach Processinq,~e~ggnts
IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, SPILL OR LEAK, THE FOLLOWING
STEPS ARE TO BE FOLLOWED:
(It a worker is unfamiliar with the mill process or mill reagents and dlacovers
an accident, leak, or spill, the worker should not attempt to follow the steps
below, but rather should Immediately notify the supervisor, the Safety
Officer, or the ProceSS Superintendent.)
a. Determine the nature and extent of the problem. DO NOT take any
action until the proper Course of action can be determined based on
the nature and extent of the accident, spill, or leak.
b. Put on proper body and face protection, and breathing apparatus,
if necessary.
c. Attempt to stop or contain the flow of material.
d. Administer first old and medical treatment in accordance with Section.
8.0, If necessary.
e. Notify immediate supervisor or the Safety Officer. Supervisors era to
report directly to the Process Superintendent or acting Outy Officer.
The Process Superintendent will take turther corcectlva and
notification actions, if necessary.
f. Begin detoxification actlvftlea, if necessary.
