Attempt to stop or contain the flow of material. <br />b. In the case of an accident, administer first aid and medical treatment. <br />c. Notity immediate supervisor of the Safety Otttcer. Supervisors are to <br />report directly and without delay to the Operations Superintendent or <br />active Duty Officer. The Operations Superintendent or Safety Officer <br />will take further corrective action. <br />d. Begin clean-up activities promptly. Spilled material .should be <br />pumped Into approved containers. If pumping is not poaslble, send, <br />dirt, or absorbent material should be placed to absorb the oil or <br />coolant. Once absorption is complete, all conteminated material <br />should be collected In barrels end disposed of in a manner and at a <br />location specifically approved by the Operations Superintendent or <br />Safety Officer. <br />7.3 l~b9ratorv and Processing Reaoents <br />IN THE EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT, SPILL OR LEAK, THE FOLLOWING <br />STEPS ARE TO BE FOLLOWED: <br />(If a worker is unfamiliar with the mill process or mill reagents and discovers <br />an accident, leak, or spill, the worker should not attempt to follow the steps <br />below, but rasher should Immediately notify the supervisor, the Safety <br />Otflcer, or the Process Superintendent.) <br />NOTE: All mill processing reagents are located within the mill building <br />except cyanide Flo-Bins. The mill buildings have been designed for <br />Cotttainment and collection of any spills. <br />a. Determine which mill reagent is causing the problem. DD NOT take <br />any action until the proper course of action can be determined based <br />On the reagent involved. <br />7 <br />
