The site ie generally in good
condition and active mining was not occurring during the inspection. Typically, mining only
occurs at one time during the year and enough material is stockpiled so that the pit is
inactive for the remainder of the year.
The west aide of the mined area has been regraded at 3:1 elopes or less. Areas on the south
aide of the permitted area are also eloped at 3:1 or lees, however; these areas will be
reactivated once mining resumes in the southern portion of the permitted area. The moat
recently mined areas along the north and east aides of the pits contained steep elopes.
Mining will occur in these areas when activity resumes this summer/fall.
The permit boundary was clearly marked, however, the required permit identification sign was
not posted at the mine entrance ae required by rule 3.1.12. A vigorous stand of cheatgraee
has established on the topsoil stockpile. The operator was informed that this stockpile
should be reseeded with a desirable perennial grass cover this fall to prevent excessive
water and wind erosion.
I & E Contact Address
NAME• Forrest Luke
OPERATOR Williams Fork Company, Attn:
STREET P.O.
