Exploration - airborne surveys and photographs, use of instruments or <br /> devices which are hand carried or otherwise transported over the surface <br /> to make magnetic, radioactive, or other tests and measurements, <br /> boundary or claim surveying, location work, or other work which causes no <br /> greater land disturbance than is caused by ordinary lawful use of the land <br /> by persons not prospecting. <br /> C. Small-scale surface excavation - any single activity which results in the <br /> disturbance of a single block of land totaling one thousand six hundred <br /> square feet or less of the land's surface, not to exceed two such <br /> disturbances per acre; except that the cumulative total of such <br /> disturbances will not exceed five acres. <br /> d. Timber harvesting, shrub and tree removal or transplanting, plant growth <br /> material salvage or use, soil material storage, vegetation nursery, <br /> management of vegetation debris, re-vegetation, vegetation management, <br /> habitat management, vegetation experiments, application of fertilizer or <br /> other soil or overburden amendments, measurements or monitoring. <br /> Sludge drying (for fertilizer) operations. <br /> e. Monitoring - Air, water, land, and general environmental monitoring and <br /> sampling, management operations such as storm-water management, <br /> analytical facilities, treatment facilities, watershed management. <br /> 2.2 Conditional uses: <br /> 2.2.1 Conditional Uses in the underlying zone in compliance with Teller County <br /> Land Use Regulations with the exception of mining operations. All mining <br /> operations which are not Permitted Uses shall meet the requirements of <br /> the CCMOD. <br /> 2.3 Uses in the CCMOD subject to review and approval through the PUD process, <br /> with the specific requirements as defined herein. <br /> 1.3.1 Mining Operations, when associated with an approved PUD and are either <br /> (1) necessary for or accessory to mining operations or (2) those that are <br /> compatible with the long-term mining of the area, consist of: <br /> a. Drilling, blasting, storage of drilling supplies, storage of blasting supplies, <br /> monitoring of blasting, testing of blasting patterns and agents. <br /> b. Mining including excavation, grading, loading, hauling, dumping, and other <br /> earth-moving operations, including overburden placement. Aggregate <br /> extraction, screening, blending, storage, loading, hauling, dumping, <br /> placement. <br /> C.
