<br />will be provided to the Division of Minerals and Geology <br />(DMG). <br />The ownership and control information was recently updated and <br />DMG has checked it against the Applicant Violator System to <br />insure that the data is accurate. <br />The bond on the mine is a surety provided by Seaboard Surety <br />Company. The current amount of bond is $2,550,000.00. The <br />Office of Surface Mining (OSM) is included as a principal on <br />the bond. <br />There is no surface blasting being conducted at the mine, <br />however, there is an explosive storage area and explosive <br />permit #`78 has been issued for 1994. <br />Letters for notification of property owners in the area of <br />subsidence were prepared on November 3, 1994. These letters <br />are being sent to the Bureau of Land Management and Powderhorn <br />Properties. The last subsidence report was submitted on <br />December 30, 1993. The current subsidence monitoring is <br />conducted by a visual walk through inspection of the area <br />which has been undermined. Some subsidence cracks above the <br />south portal have been recently repaired. <br />A discharge permit has been issued by the Colorado Department <br />of Health. Permit number CO-0027146 became effective on <br />September 1, 1994 and expires on July 31, 1997. The permit <br />allows 4 discharge points. All monitoring has been reported <br />as required and the discharges were within the limits <br />specified in the permit. <br />The surface and ground water monitoring is being conducted in <br />accordance with the plan approved by the permit. All required <br />sampling was being conducted as specified in the plan. <br />Air emissions permit C-11,670F (1&2) has been issued by the <br />Colorado Department of Health. There is no monitoring or <br />reporting required. <br />The current Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures plan <br />was certified on December 29, 1992. It was noted during the <br />inspection that petroleum products have been spilled in <br />locations where barrels and storage tanks are located. The <br />soil in the area of these spills needs to be removed and <br />disposed of in an approved manner. PCC should also take <br />measures to prevent further contamination of soils from <br />spills. <br />The third quarter pond inspections were conducted on July 26, <br />1994.
