Hvdroloaic Balance
Pond 4 and pond 5 were observed dry and in good condition All dewatering gates were
found closed and primary and emergency spillways appeared in functional condition on all
ponds. Following reclamation and revegetation of the site. ponds in general have been dry
due to reduced runoff and utilization of available moisture by vegetation The Magpie
Diversion was found well vegetated and check dams appear unchanged from any storm
runoff that has occurred since installation.
Processing Waste
The processing waste pile was traversed from east to west Older areas of the reclaimed
pile show some new growth for the season but are dominated by nearly 100% litter cover
from past years growth. Toward the west where the reclamation is younger, plant vigor and
diversity seem to improve. Rills and small remnant gullies. especially on the north-facing
slopes of the pile have healed well and vegetation seems to have arrested any further
development of these erosional features. The operator should remove roof bolts that remain
from previous straw bale installation in these gullies when surface conditions allow access
with equipment. The roof bolts may constitute a hazard to OHV's such as AN's or
snowmobiles.
Y ~
4
~' 4
• ~• ~

NN
{V/
~
~/
. ~ , .
,
..

a- '..r.7r
! -R' c~ ~~

... ~ ~ '~.jii°.F ~aY:: rte, r
I~. ni~l'a r `.I -4.:~'l"_~'i

~ ?f
i^ ~ ~ fit.

v
_ ,
g~•
~ ~ ~ I
i .t . r~~Tt,~f~~),
r
t
.
i~etusG i';la i
~oulnLc:ir.~ ?,i,ne rune 1 ~.;bU r :
