RIVER ITY
(g/h) Primary,Secondary,and Incidental Commodities
The primary commodity to be extracted is construction-grade sand and gravel, which will be
processed for use in aggregate and construction industries. No secondary or incidental products
are anticipated.
(i) Use of Explosives
No explosives will be used for mining or reclamation. Excavation will be conducted entirely with
mechanical equipment.
(i) Final Reclamation and Post-Mining Land Use
Upon completion of mining, the site will be graded to form an 11.5-acre pond with stable slopes
and approximately 11 acres of upland areas reclaimed to grassland. Salvaged topsoil will be
redistributed evenly across graded surfaces, which will be seeded with the Mesa County-
approved seed mix (Western Wheatgrass, Smooth Brome, Intermediate Wheatgrass, and
Perennial Rye). As part of final reclamation, a 10-foot-wide concrete trail will be constructed
within a 15-foot easement to connect the property to the Riverfront Trail.
